Genesis Manor IV is our La Verne home, tucked into a residential neighborhood in the foothills of Los Angeles County. Six residents, one house, and an administrator with a doctorate in physical therapy whose background shapes how the home is set up: how the bathrooms are arranged, how transfers are handled, how falls are prevented before they happen. If mobility and fall risk are the reason you are searching, start here.
Genesis Manor IV is owned by Gerry Markie, R.N. Her daughter Elyssa Kimble, DPT, has been its certified administrator since 2019. Elyssa serves as the home’s administrator rather than as a treating therapist, so residents receive any physical therapy through their own providers. What her training changes is how the house is set up and how her caregivers are taught to move people. Learn more about Elyssa.
Genesis Manor IV is one of five homes. Compare all five side by side.
Who This Home Is Right For
Start with this home if your parent has fallen, is unsteady, uses a walker or wheelchair, or has become someone you are afraid to leave alone in a bathroom. The administrator here is a doctor of physical therapy, and that training shapes the house itself: how the bathrooms are arranged, how transfers are handled, how a fall is prevented before it happens rather than documented after.
It also suits residents in the early and middle stages of dementia and residents already receiving home health or hospice care. It is not the right home for someone actively trying to leave the house or someone who needs an awake caregiver through the night.
What the House Is Like
Up to six residents, four private rooms and one shared room, in a residential neighborhood in the Los Angeles County foothills. A caregiver lives on site around the clock, seven days a week. Meals are cooked in the kitchen, three a day plus snacks. A licensed physician visits monthly and medications are delivered six days a week.
The Neighborhood
Genesee Avenue sits in a residential pocket of La Verne, in the foothills of eastern Los Angeles County, minutes from the University of La Verne and a short drive from Pomona Valley Hospital and San Dimas Community Hospital. Street parking out front, and visiting hours are whenever you want to visit.

What a Visit to This Home Looks Like
Three steps, no pressure, and no paperwork on the day.
Before you come
Call the number above and spend a few minutes describing your loved one’s care needs. We will tell you before you drive out whether this home can meet them.
When you arrive
The administrator walks you through the house, including the four private rooms, the shared room, the kitchen, and the yard. Ask about the bathroom setup and how transfers are handled; this home is run by a doctor of physical therapy and it is arranged accordingly. You will meet the caregivers who would be working with your loved one.
After the visit
No deposit and no paperwork on the day. If it feels right, the next step is a care assessment. If it does not, tell us and we will suggest other homes worth seeing.
