Care and Services at Genesis Manor
Five licensed board and care homes, up to six residents each. Caregivers are on site around the clock to help with bathing, dressing, medication, mobility, and meals, and to coordinate with your loved one’s doctors and outside providers. Every home is licensed by the state as a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly.
This page is the complete list of what we do, and, further down, the complete list of what we cannot. Read the second one first if you are short on time.
Our Care and Services
Many of our caregivers have been with us for years, several for more than a decade. That means your loved one is cared for by people who know their routines and can notice when something is off, not by a rotating shift.

Medical Oversight
Genesis Manor is licensed as a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly. We provide care and supervision, not skilled nursing, and we do not operate a secured memory care unit. What we offer residents with memory loss is a consistent routine, the same caregivers every day, and a house with six people in it. Read how that works in practice.
How Overnight Works in Our Homes
A caregiver lives on site around the clock, seven days a week, and responds to emergencies at any hour. We do not staff awake overnight caregivers, so nighttime supervision is on call rather than continuous.
This is the honest tradeoff of the small home model, and it is worth asking every board and care home you tour. In a house with six residents, the caregiver is a room away rather than down a corridor in another wing. But if your loved one needs an awake attendant through the night, or is at active risk of leaving the house unsupervised, we will tell you plainly that we are not the right home, and we will help you understand what kind of setting is.
What Genesis Manor Doesn’t Provide
Every family’s needs are different, and we want to be upfront about the scope of care we offer so you can make the right decision for your loved one. Genesis Manor is not equipped to provide:
If your loved one needs a higher level of medical care than we provide directly, we can often coordinate with hospice or home health partners to bring those services into the home. Contact us to talk through your specific situation.
What Happens When You Call
The first call takes about twenty minutes. You tell us what is going on, we ask about mobility, memory, medications, and how nights are going right now. No forms, no sales pitch.
We tell you early if we are not a fit. If your loved one needs something on the list above, you will hear that on the first call rather than after a tour.
If it looks like a fit, we schedule a visit. You see the actual house, meet the caregivers, and see the room that would be theirs. Bring whoever needs to be part of the decision.
Before move-in, the state requires an assessment. We complete an appraisal of your loved one’s needs and a physicians’ report is required before admission.
Most families are somewhere between “starting to look” and “need a bed next week.” Both are fine. Tell us which one you are and we will meet you there.
